oddjobs.im started by fixing a very real problem on the Local - the old, unreliable way of finding and hiring tradespeople. That foundation is still rock solid.

Constant delays, broken promises, poor communication, and frustration had become the norm. Good tradies were getting buried, and customers were getting let down.

So we built a better system - then opened more doors.

oddjobs.im is now a local professional platform with four clear paths: Home & trades, Health, Legal and Careers. Different journeys, one company. We never dump plumbers, clinics, solicitors and agency vacancies into the same public job feed.

Trades - the full local workflow: interest when scope is fuzzy, site visits when someone needs to look, and multiple estimates when you’re ready to compare and award one winner. Diary, week-ahead digests, multi-skilled matching, letterheaded estimates on Pro/Elite, public shopfronts, free trial then PayPal plans. Customers always post free. No commission on the job. In partnership with Ortally.com, tradies can also connect easy accounting and bookkeeping at affordable prices (optional - separate from OddJobs membership).

Health - practices and clinicians get a dedicated medical workspace. Customers browse and request appointments. Not a public symptom board. Not a clinical records system. Not for emergencies.

Legal - firms and solicitors get a chambers-style workspace. Clients browse and request consultations. Not a public matter board. Not case-management software.

Careers - find island roles via partner recruitment agencies on the public Careers door. Browse and filter vacancies, then apply with a warm referral to the agency - not a public CV dump or free-for-all job board. Careers is open to agencies who want to partner: each agency gets its own workspace for feed, branding, referrals and sync - not an exclusive single-agency seat.

We also ship like a serious tech company for a local problem: multi-language public pages, polished dashboards, and OJ - a free in-app helper that answers how-to questions and can open the right screen (not a bolted-on marketing chatbot).
